Choosing a UK Camp Site in Devon and Cornwall - Travel


Camping is a favorite pastime enjoyed by thousands of people each year. Many people return to the same places with friends and family and re-experience the fun from previous seasons. However, many people choose to try somewhere different each year and look for a unique experience time and again.

There are many destinations to consider when looking for a campsite and many question that need to be answered. Like do you want to go abroad? What part of the county should I choose if we stay in the UK? The first camp site this article will look at is Bodmin. Offering 130 pitches and open to non members this campsite is a popular choice through the season. Open from April the 2nd 09 through to November the 2nd 09 this site is a camping destination that is enjoyed by plenty of happy campers. Situated between the Cornish coasts and the heart of the moors, you will find it is located in an ideal spot. One side you have the breathtaking coastlines and to the other side areas of outstanding beauty.

Next on the list of popular camp site destinations is Bude. This area is considered to be in an area of great natural beauty. Ideally situated to allow you to explore the coastline and other attractions of North Cornwall this popular destination is a paradise for those who enjoy surfing and building sandcastles. Opening dates are 27th April 09 to 28th September 09.

Destination number three is Charmouth. There are 150 pitches available and this campsite is also open to non members and is proving to be yet another popular choice among travelers. Boasting the best of Devon and Dorset and located buy the west heritage coast this is a campsite that is highly popular for obvious reasons. Season opening times are 13th March 09 to 9th November 09.

Popular destination number 4 is Slapton Sands. Located on the beautiful coasts of the South Hams, Slapton offers the ideal location for a family holiday that provides something for everyone. With 115 pitches on offer and welcomes non members the campsite delivers a relaxing atmosphere that is so closely situated to both shingle and sand beaches. A massively popular and very stunning area of Devon provides camp site number 5. The Dartmouth site boasts 95 pitches and its season runs from 15th March 09 to 15th November 09. Situated by the lovely area of Start Bay on the South Hams coast, Dartmouth provides an ideal get way for those who are looking to explore the area. Based in a most beautiful part of the country this location also offers the award winning Blackpool Sands beach which is approximately a mile away.
